August 6-10, 2012

Great job this week to the students!!! It was so much fun meeting everyone, and I am so excited to work with you throughout the school year.

Homework
Every Monday, students will receive their homework packet. It is due every Friday morning. The items in the homework packet are: Spelling Word activities, Math Worksheets, and a Reading Log. Students are expected to read for 15 minutes every night of the week.  Parents, please sign the reading log every night that your child completely fills it out. This worth part of their grade! On Fridays, students who finished all their homework and brought it to school will get to participate in the weekly reward. This includes a movie for an hour or outside play time.  Students who did not turn in their work will finish it during this hour and will not participate in the reward.

Alphabeast Books
Students will receive the rubric for this project this Monday. They are to complete a book of animals in ABC order. They must do one animal for each letter, and complete at least 20 animals. This is due Friday, September 21. This is all in-class work; not homework! This is a big portion of their science grade.
